The City of Paramount experienced a year of remarkable progress and growth in 2024. From ensuring public safety through improvements to the Emergency Operations Center and the implementation of Care Solace, to enhancing transparency with new fiscal policies, this year has been defined by concrete actions. Paramount has also made strides in investing in its youth with the Youth Activities League after-school enrichment program, as well as updating four playgrounds in the community. These efforts have culminated in transformative changes that have empowered residents and positioned the City for an even brighter future.
Throughout the year, the City has focused on strengthening its financial stability, improving infrastructure and increasing opportunities for engagement across all community groups. By addressing key challenges and seizing new opportunities, Paramount has been able to make substantial progress in creating a more connected, sustainable and resilient community.
Some of the key highlights from 2024 include:
- Implemented a 5-Year Capital Improvement Project program;
- Awarded 59 Paramount Education Partnership scholarships totaling $196,000;
- 37 residential and business properties enrolled in the Security Rebate Program
- Completed the construction of four new parks;
- Over 300 trees planted throughout the City in correlation with the Urban Forest Management Plan;
- Over 1,000 commercial establishments and multi-family residences have adopted new trash, recycling and organics collection systems in compliance with SB 1383;
- Developed a new holiday community event supporting Paramount’s downtown businesses
The work done in 2024 sets the stage for continued growth and community development, and we remain dedicated to making Paramount an even better place to live, work and play.
